Denji has a desire to live a happy and tranquil life with the girl he adores. This is a far cry from truth, as Denji is forced to slay devils by the yakuza in order to pay off his crippling debts. He is willing to do anything for money, using his pet devil Pochita as a weapon.
Unfortunately, he has outlived his utility and is assassinated by a devil working for the yakuza. Pochita, on the other hand, combines with Denji’s dead body and grants him the powers of a chainsaw devil in an unexpected turn of events. Denji, now able to convert sections of his body into chainsaws, uses his new talents to dispatch his opponents quickly and brutally. Catching the eye of the official devil hunters who arrive at the scene, he is offered work at the Public Safety Bureau as one of them. Now with the means to face even the toughest of enemies, Denji will stop at nothing to achieve his simple teenage dreams.
